The Minnesota Gun Owners Political Action Committee is a non-partisan single-issue political action committee focused on supporting state and federal candidates that are strong supporters of second amendment civil rights.
Why we formed this PAC
We have strong traditions surrounding hunting, the shooting sports, and self-defense here in Minnesota.
We saw this quite clearly in the 2013 legislative session when hundreds of law-abiding gun owners turned out each day to ensure that their voices were heard.
The Minnesota Gun Owners Political Action Committee will ensure that these traditions are protected by representing the interests of gun owners in upcoming elections.
We are an affiliate organization of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and support their goals and mission.
Our relationship with the National Rifle Association (NRA) or the Gun Owners Civil Rights Alliance (GOCRA)
The Minnesota Gun Owners Political Action Committee is an independent unconnected political action committee.
That said, the NRA, GOCRA, and the Minnesota Gun Owners Political Action Committee are all strong supporters of second amendment civil rights and each organization shares many common viewpoints. We'll each have our roles to play in the upcoming legislative session and 2014 elections.
The PAC is led by long-time supporters of the 2nd Amendment that have been active in state and local politics as activists for Minnesota's Gun Owners Civil Rights Alliance (GOCRA).
